Personalise your phone

From the Home screen, you can quickly access the features you use the most and see any missed calls or new messages at a glance.


You can easily make your phone look and sound like yours by personalising the views in your phone in different ways, changing ringing tones and adding wallpapers. Adjust the settings to make the use of your phone easy for you.


Get familiar with your home screen

The Home screen is the view you see in your device display. It is your starting point, where you can collect all your important shortcuts for applications.

The Home screen consist of:
    • Contacts bar – You can add your most used contacts, make calls quickly, send messages to contacts, view the contact’s web feed, or access the contact information and settings.
    • Application plug-ins – Brings you the information on what is happeninig. For example, your e-mails.
    • Application shortcuts – Gives you quick access to the most used applications.

    You can customise the application plug-ins and shortcuts to suit you:

    1. Select Menu > Settings > Settings > General.
    2. Select Personalisation > Standby mode, and the appropriate shortcuts or applications.

You might not be able to change all shortcuts.

Tip!
By selecting Contacts in Ovi to Applications plug-ins, you can bring chat to your home screen. Log in and you see which of your friends are online and ready for chatting. You can start chatting straight from your home screen.


Customise your Home screen contacts bar

You can add several contacts direct to the Home screen, and quickly make calls or send messages to the contacts, view the contacts web feed, or access the contact information and settings.

To add a contact to your Home screen, select the Add contact icon and scroll to the contact you want to add. Press select to confirm your selection.

To remove a contact from the Home screen, open the contacts information view, select the Settings icon and Remove.

Tip!
If your contact has a web feed, you can bring it straight to your Home screen. Open the contacts information view, select the Add feed icon and the desired feed from the list and Done. If you want to create a new feed, select Options > New feed. To update a feed, select Refresh.


Personalise profile

Your phone has various setting groups called profiles, which you can customise with ringing tones for different events and environments.

Adjust a profile:
  1. Select Menu > Settings > Profiles, scroll to the desired profile and choose from the following options:
    • Activate – Activates the selected profile
    • Personalise – Changes the profile settings
You can personalise:
    • Ringing tone
    • Video call tone
    • Say caller’s name
    • Ringing type
    • Ringing volume
    • Message alert tone
    • E-mail alert tone
    • Vibrating alert
    • Keypad tones
    • Warning tones
    • Alert for
    • PPT call alert tone
    • Push to talk status
    • Opening sound
    • Closing sound

Change the display theme

You can also personalise your device to suit your mood by changing and setting themes, adding your own wallpaper and selecting an animation for the screensaver.

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Settings > General > Personalisation > Themes.
  2. Choose from the following options:
    • General – The theme used in applications.
    • Menu view – The theme used in the main menu.
    • Standby – The theme used in standby mode.
    • Wallpaper – The background image for the Home screen.
    • Power saver – An animation for the screen saver.
    • Call image – Image displayed during calls.
    • Audio themes – Audio themes are offered in packages that contain several sound files on a common theme.
