To start Nokia Maps on these mobile devices, select Menu > My Own > Maps. You can also move the icon to launch Nokia Maps to a different folder or create a shortcut for Nokia Maps in your Active Standby Applications or the selection key shortcuts.
Note: When installing Nokia Maps on a Symbian Series 60 2nd edition mobile device (for example, Nokia N70), the path to launch Nokia Maps is different than on Symbian Series 60 3rd edition mobile devices.
Select one of the following (depending on your device model)
The following settings are displayed:
Glossary: A roaming agreement is an agreement between two or more network service providers to enable the users of one service provider to use the services of other service providers.
Depending on your device, select:
Set the following settings for application installations:
Some Java applications may require a message to be sent or a network connection to a specific access point for downloading extra data or components. In the App. mgr. main view, scroll to an application, and select Options > Open to change settings related to that specific application.
When using predictive text input, if a question mark (?) is shown after the word you entered, the word you intended to write is not in the dictionary. To add the word to the dictionary, select Spell, enter the word and save it.
Note: You cannot manually delete words that were added to your dictionary. When the dictionary is full, the most recent addition replaces the first.
Go to Tools > Settings > Phone > General > Orig. phone settings. After resetting, the phone may take a longer time to power on again. Documents and files are unaffected.
To restore the original device settings, you need your device lock code. The default value of the lock code is 12345.
You can unplug the charger when the battery indicator shows that the battery is full. For the first and consecutive charges, charging the battery can take up to 2 hours. It is not recommended to keep the charger connected longer. The first charge is not different from the other charges.
Note: When charging through a USB port, the charging might take longer than 2 hours.
The instructions may vary depending on the device model. The best source of information is the User guide of device.
Example of copying contacts from a SIM card to a phone memory (Nokia N95):
No. The amount of consecutive incorrect lock codes is not limited and you cannot lock your Nokia device permanently by entering wrong lock codes. However, if you enter the wrong lock code for 5 consecutive times, the device is locked for 5 minutes during which time it doesn't accept any codes, not even the correct one.
Note that some applications may add security measures of their own if an incorrect lock code is given too many times. For example with Mail for Exchange the administrator can define that all the data in the device is deleted when a maximum number of lock code retries is reached. The device may show in this situation the following warning message:
Incorrect lock code. One attempt left before data is deleted.
If a wrong lock code is still given after the above warning, the device is reset and all the user data is wiped out.
To activate Offline profile, select Menu > Tools (or Settings or Ctrl. panel) > Profiles > Offline.
However, this only disables the GSM or UMTS network and still allows a Bluetooth and WLAN connection. Your device may still emit unwanted signals when turned to Offline profile.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) settings are needed for certain network services using SIP, e.g. for VoIP or video sharing. You may receive the settings in a special text message from your service provider. You can view, delete, or create these setting profiles in SIP settings menu.
A sample SIP profile is shown below:
The settings must match with the settings provided by the SIP service provider. Contact the service provider for the correct parameter values.
